We want everyone to benefit from DAISI and so we took the first steps in making sure that the whole world can benefit from our unique compute sharing network by open sourcing the entire code base. Get it here on Github.
Why did we open source it? Isn't it valuable?
Yes, it's valuable. Maybe one of the most valuable projects our team has worked on. But, as we thought about the ramifications of the next ten years of AI growth, there needs to be a fully open way that AI can scale and still enable companies and creators, small and large, to benefit from AI.
As token fees go up from the major players, smaller companies and creators are going to be left out in the cold. We want to make sure there's a network set up where they still have a fighting chance without selling a kidney for expensive subscriptions.
Can I use DAISI for commercial projects?
Yes, the SDKs are all under MIT licenses. If you want to modify the Orc or the Hosts, that's an EPL and you should understand what the requirements are for modifying those and releasing them. Namely, you must release the project open source as well.
How do we earn credits in the DAISI network?
Setting up a Host and letting it run for a while is the easiest and cheapest way. Every token that you process gives you a token credit to use. The more you Host, the more you can use. As of right now, there are no limits.
We think that this is a fair system where those who give also receive.
What if I just want to use my own hosts?
You are never charged for using your own hosts. This means that you can setup a Host and target it through the network without any processing fees at all.
What's the catch? How will DAISI make money?
We have a monetization strategy around the marketplace for skills, plugins, tools, and more that we plan on releasing in the coming year. We also will allow creators to buy tokens upfront eventually if they don't want to setup a Host and earn their way into the system.
