Your Desktop, On Your Terms

CTRL runs on the PC you already use. Agents connect over a local MCP endpoint — they never embed their own desktop automation. You decide which agents and which apps are allowed; everything else is denied.

Sign in with Daisi (same OTP as other DAISI apps) to list your machines and take control of displays or individual windows from another computer or a phone.

Default deny

Only approved agents may call tools, and only against approved applications.

MCP on loopback

Listens at http://127.0.0.1:17322/mcp — local agents only, with a bearer token you issue.

Remote when you want it

Same-account Daisi SSO. Multi-monitor grid, app windows, trackpad on mobile, and an on-screen keyboard.

Daisi sign-in

Same SSO as other DAISI apps. Nodes only appear when the Orc account id matches on both sides.

Updates in place

Velopack installer. Check for updates from the tray; the public feed is the stable CTRL zip name.

Tray, not a service

Start Menu launches the host. A tray icon opens the operator UI at /ui on localhost.

How to Use It

Windows installer — download, unzip, run setup. Shortcuts land on Desktop and Start.

1 Install

  1. Download the Windows zip from this page.
  2. Unzip, then run CTRL-Setup.exe (per-user installer).
  3. Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts for CTRL are created automatically.
  4. First launch writes an admin token under your local CTRL config folder.

2 Approve an agent

  1. Open the tray icon → operator UI at http://127.0.0.1:17322/ui.
  2. Add an agent and copy its bearer token.
  3. Point the agent at /mcp with Authorization: Bearer ….
  4. Allow only the applications that agent should touch.

3 Remote desktop

  • Sign in on the host (/ui/remote) with Daisi SSO.
  • Open the viewer, sign in with the same account, and pick a node.
  • Use two machines — same-box testing fights over the hardware cursor.

4 Stay current

  • Tray “Check for updates” uses the public Velopack feed.
  • The bookmark URL never changes: CTRL-win-x64.zip.
  • Unsigned dogfood builds may show SmartScreen — that is expected.
